I am failing to get the info what is the ideal temperature to melt these .. "medium" is absolutelo no info .. my iron has to set exact temperature like 120 degrees or 160 .. I usea professional iron .. I don´t have a basic one .. on my first press I melted the beads with the first borad completely in only 10 seconds .. it was liquid when I opened it ... I used 160 degrees so I guess 100 is "medium" ? :D .. thankfull I bough 20 boards as I expect that I will melt 10 before I figure out the basic settings that the manufacturer forgot to mention like EVERYWHERE ...I am also shocked why the board is not made of heat resistant silicone .... :/ (110-120°C is the perfect temperature if anyone don´t want to suffer like me) :) .. also lasercut a wooden frame taller than the board and 1mm smaller than the beads and you will never damage your board.

I tried to iron my very first project the other day and the beads wouldn't fuse together, so I came here for troubleshooting and- I have the exact same iron! So that answers my question perfectly lol I learned other good tips as well so thanks!

2:27 this is why i use the tape method, no risk of melting the pegboard and it sticks the beads down so they can't jump free.

I was gifted an 11" x 11" perler craft, and on my first attempt to iron it only a couple sections fused. Is it possible to try again and iron the whole piece together?

I'm still confused bc I've just started and I melt the beads on the bored and it does start to lift up but I put a heavy book on it as soon as I take the iron off and it's flat again (can someone please explain)

Why would upload something like a tutorial and then say “don’t do it this way”? People are watching for tips to make theirs better and you’re showing them the wrong way to do something. If you make a mistake, do another take. This was the biggest waste of time.

I don't know if my iron gets hotter than yours, but if I went over the beads for as long as you did the beads would be nearly flat. And don't even put my iron on the highest heat setting. I'm getting better at not melting the beads too much, but occasionally I still do it and it's so frustrating!
